What beautiful weather for November. I am thrilled that we can still get out and pick in a
T shirt none the less! The fall have been busy for us here at Houlton stamp and coin and
HSC auctions. We have new bumper stickers, magnets and T shirts...OK that hasn't been all that has kept us humming. We have purchased some great items from downstate,
dragged them back, made Dave clean them and have them ready for sale in the shop,
online and will be featuring tings throughout the next few auctions.
Auctions are scheduled for the rest of the year now and we will provide updates as we close in on those dates. Currently we are planning November 12, 26 and December 3 as
the last auction for 2017. My wife did not like the back to back weekends, maybe she just needs more beer? In any case December 3 should be a big one, to include a great deal
more items than we normally feature.
Online sales have increased as we have added a second location as well as "loaders". We are pumping out the CDs, books and knick knacks like crazy. I appreciate the help these folks are giving us to slowly liquidate our mass of items collected this year. We are
certainly not the biggest store, but we are busy.
In my spare time I like to read other blogs (that is not all I do), I recently came across a
really great blog on being an antique dealer :
Antique Trader has done a wonderful job helping the community of dealers and buyers for many years/decades, and the blog they produce shows it. Take a moment and peruse it when you can.
Updates on staff are as follows: Gene has not got his deer. Dave is not making wise
choices but continues to mystify us all by not dying. Angie has not quit. Greg now dates a woman. Sara is still upset about all those lost Sundays. I hope to get another blog out this month, but until then my worldwide reader stay longing for the next item, keep searching for the elusive "thing" and visit us downtown or at the auction sometime.
We are actively buying Maine paperweights with town scenes inside them.
A book is forthcoming, pictures in high resolution are great if you add the dimensions,
if these are for sale please let us know.
Stay collecting my friends. Come visit us downtown, at a live auction or
online. We offer online auctions, live auctions, estate clean-outs and
advice (sometimes it even is right) .
